May 9th was the birthday of a teacher who founded new methods of education by applying literature and arts in learning, namely for children who were deprived of minimum means of subsistence. Born 125 years ago he bravely paved the way for educating the deaf and became the founder of education for the deaf in Iran.
On Tuesday of May 4th 2010 Sayedeh Bassarat Kazim, the director of the Cultural & Education Institute of "One Thousand & One Nights"(Alif Laila) was the special guest of The Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature in Iran (IRHCLI).

Mohammad Bahmanbaigi passed away on Saturday May 1st 2010, at Kowsar Hospital in Shiraz, at age 90 after a long illnesses. He was the founder of education for the nomadic and tribal population of Iran.
The institute for Research on the History of Children's Literature in Iran has recently launched a new project called " Study of Childhood " comprising research on all aspects of children's lives throughout history. In line with the research on medical issues related to children and children's hygiene during the Qajar period, the researchers from the Institute visited The Iranian National Museum of History of Medicine.
