The Institute for Research on the History the Children’s Literature in Iran (IRHCLI) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 2000 by enthusiastic researchers in the field of children’s literature. Since, the Institute has engaged in valuable national and international activities.
The 35th IBBY International Congress was held on 18 to 21 August 2016 in Auckland, New Zealand. The congress theme was “Literature in a multi-literate World” and global, local and native literature, various literary forms and attracting the readers were the basics of this congress.

Childhood Museum, Ten Days with Ghazvin Province in Iran
In September RWM group was invited by HAMI (The Association of the Development of Cultural & Educational Facilities to the Dizej village for an educational workshop for the rural librarians in West Azerbaijan. On the verge of the workshop, the group had a short conversation with the rural women about the lives of rural children and their traditional toys. We also visited the Sunday’s Bazaar.
On Wednesday the 24th of July we had a conversation with Madeline Baghdarsarian, one of the first graduates of experimental college school project in 70s. She recaptures it as a boring course.
The project of founding childhood museum began following an extensive collection of objects related to children's entertainment from the ancient times until 1979. In 2010, the Institute decided to launch the Virtual Museum of Childhood based on the collections provided.
A group of reading promotion and creativity professionals from the Society of Children and Young Adult Literature Fans of Isfahan held workshops in Bam.
Ketabak and the Institute for Research on the History of Children's Literature in Iran experts organized a workshop on reading aloud to kids and doing artistic activities to educate librarians and kindergarten teachers as well as book lovers in Evaz city in Fars province.
A historical exhibition on the Childhood Culture and Education of Iranian Children was presented at the Hosseinieh Ershad Public Library from Oct. 9 to 17.
Patricia Aldana, co-chair of the National Reading Campaign in Canada and former head of the International Board on Books for Children and Young Adults (IBBY), visited The Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature in Iran in September during her travel to Iran.
