After an extensive search, the Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature in Iran has found a large collection of books, mostly lithography books, that need restoration. The late Mehdi Azaryazdi, a famous Iranian children’s author, donated a considerable part of this collection, known as “Lithography Makatabkhaneh books”, to the institute’s library. To prevent further damage to them, these books were first sent to Iran’s National Library and Archives for restoration.
Given the institute’s limited financial resources, it was clear that the restoration of this collection was impossible without the help of organizations such as the Iran’s national archive and the Parliament (Majlis) Library.
We continue this restoration work through the generous support of the Parliament (Majlis) Library after a temporary halt because of financial difficulties.
