Azar Yazdi was the symbol of modesty and rebellion in children's culture and literature2009/07/15Mehdi Azar Yazdi, the pioneer writer of children's literature passed away on 9 July 2009 after a long period of illness and hospitalization. He was embraced by mother earth; the children in Iran can now run and play on his grave and read life joyfully through his books. This was his only wish; with his love for children of his country he read and wrote so that they experience a better world. Training Workshops2009/05/12The Institute for Research on the History of Children’s Literature in Iran, conducted a series of training workshops for its staff from 17 April to 17 May 2009. The workshops aimed to review the organizational structure, and to build the capacity of the staff in the areas of planning, seeking new approaches, participation and decision making; all in line with the overall objectives of the Institute. 60 years of tireless efforts made for the education of the deaf2008/11/15In line with the research project on the life of Jabar Baghcheban and his achievements in education for the deaf in Iran- and on the occasion of the sixtieth year of the organizational efforts made for the well being of the deaf - a ceremony was held on Wednesday 12 November in the Abfay Cultural & Sports Institute in Tehran. The ceremony was organized by the family of Reza Gholy Shahidy, one of the oldest pupils of Baghcheban. Tracing the history of education for the deaf in Esfahan2008/11/01Mandana Razavizadeh research team supervisor from the Institute for Research on the History of Children's Literature, made a trip to Esfahan in the last days of October to collect more information on the life of Baghcheban and the history of education for the deaf. She visited the Museum of Education where she found many documents which had been used by researchers at the Institute. Most fascinating items at the museum were the Cuisenaire Box, the box for teaching mathematics at elementary school and the school bag from 1935 from Maimeh District, Esfahan province. more ... |
