The Association of Graduates of Tribal Population held a memorial ceremony for Mohammad Bahmanbiaigi , the pioneer educator for tribal community of Iran.
The ceremony was held on 31th May at Vahdat Hall in Tehran. Students and close friends spoke about his lifelong efforts to establish an educational system for the nomadic children . Touran Mirhadi , the founder of the Children’s Book Council of Iran, in her speech praised Bahmanbaigi’s love and passion for children and his significant role in providing educational opportunities for tribal children who had no access to education and his tireless efforts to set up and equip tribal schools. Mirhadi said Bahmanbaigi’s work is exceptional and exemplary.
A documentary film on Bahmanbaigi’s life and efforts was shown at the end of the ceremony.
Bahmanbaigi passed away on May 1st 2010 and was buried in Shiraz.
