Boxes of Valuable toys and books were donated to the "Future" Museum for Childr

Tuesday 13th of August was a exciting day for the “Future” museum, to be established by the "Research Institute for History of Children's Literature". Kamran  Malek Motiie, an activist for cultural heritage with keen interest in the cultural history of Childhood,  arrived at "Research Institute for History of Children's Literature" with more than ten large cartons of his childhood toys and books as a donation to the “Future “ museum.    The staff and researchers at the Institute were simply thrilled to see this treasure of historical items.  Part of this collection are toys from 1960s and 1970s which were gifts and souvenirs brought for Kamran from countries like Japan, United States, China, Russian etc.
This collection is an answer to some questions about childhood studies that the  Institute is currently working on. Studies on childhood consider different aspects of lives of children from all classes during the history, therefore toys are considered important documents.
Aside from the collection itself, what was amazing is the way the toys were maintained all these years; all kept  in their original boxes with labels and names of the factories .  Kamran owes this to his mother, who meticulously took care of his and his sister’s childhood possessions  all the years they were away  studying abroad.
Kamran has donated this collection to the Institute with his sincere  belief and respect in restoring the history of the people of this country.
ٰThe valuable collection of toys and books will be recorded and prepared for exhibition in the “Future” museum of culture and lives of children in Iran.  Based on Kamran’s  wish the collection will be named after his family and especially after his grandmothers who bought them for him.
The Research Institute for History of Children’s  Literature is grateful to Kamran Malek Motiie and his family for their  love and generosity.
